Become a Family MemberA prominent surviving example of Victorian industrial infrastructure, this cast-iron frame once supported a giant gas storage tank. Its distinctive lattice structure is a landmark of Edinburgh's industrial heritage along the Forth coastline, now preserved as a monument to the city's engineering history.
Really well designed public space - good balance of seating spaces, open spaces, and recreational activity spaces. We ventured out to use the ping pong table and really enjoyed it! Some nice sculptures and info about its former life as a gas holder too.
A great piece of heritage retained. Well worth a visit.
Apart from holding gas, this larger than life green structure also happens to be a nice kids' playground. Everything is new at the moment and it looks nice. This is well connected by various bike paths and has plenty of bike parking.
Now restored as a public park. It looks fab and well worth a visit. It has a small playpark and some artefacts to explore.
