This rating may be just for today as we all know its difficult to plan for extreme weather in the UK - hottest day of the year so far (but this was forecasted) -bank holiday and half term approaching - their cafe/cold drinks/ice cream/lollies dispenser were all closed - grandchildren travelled from Hornchurch to meet Grays resident "Nanny" at Grays Beach - session didn't last 1 hour -all play equipment too hot - no one's fault but a cold ice lolly would have enabled a child to cool down and have another go later -l shame on Thurrock Council, especially when they charged for parking when no family friendly amenities were available.

Grays Beach Riverside Park is a fantastic family-friendly park with beautiful riverside views and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The park has a really nice atmosphere, combining open green spaces, walking paths and one of the best playground areas in the local area. One of the highlights of the park is the large beach-themed playground and sand area, which is perfect for children and makes the place feel unique compared to many other parks nearby. The pirate ship play equipment adds a lot of character and keeps children entertained for hours. The park is also very spacious, making it ideal for families, picnics and outdoor activities. The riverside location is another great feature, with lovely views across the Thames and peaceful walking routes along the water. It is a great place for dog walking, jogging, cycling or simply sitting and enjoying the scenery. During good weather the atmosphere feels especially lively and relaxing. There are also cafés and facilities nearby which make longer visits more comfortable, and the entire area feels welcoming and well maintained overall. A really enjoyable place for both children and adults, whether you are visiting for the playground, the riverside walks or simply to spend time outdoors. Definitely one of the best outdoor family spots in Essex and well worth visiting if you enjoy relaxing parks with beautiful waterfront views. 🌊🌿☀️

Great place for children. There are lots of different play areas, slides and attractions, so kids have plenty to do and won’t get bored. The space is quite large and well spread out, which means it doesn’t feel overcrowded even when it’s busy. The sand everywhere is a big plus and keeps children entertained for hours. If the weather is good, there is a café right next door where you can get drinks and snacks which is very convenient. Walking path along thames river too.

Although it’s definitely not a real beach and it needs a bit of TLC, the riverside park was good for a nice walk. It’s dog-friendly and I could see the small kids were having fun on the rides and in the sand. Nature does a good job of making it pleasant and there are some great views overlooking the water.
