Cafe shuts at 3pm (Friday) but public toilets open for a little longer and accessible just round the side. Lots of wide open spaces and plenty of natural wildlife to see and pockets of little amusements for kids as you walk around. Picnic benches and benches scattered about. A bit scarce on bins (led by design I think) and shaded areas near some things so if you want a spot to settle out of the sun without a toddler wandering off down a steep bit or into taller grasses etc less than ideal. There are lakes (or a lake) yet to be discovered by us which sounds cool. I think perfect for older kids who can and will just embrace play and adventure. A bit too much effort to get there by foot with little pay off if your kids have no sensibility or who cling to you suffocatingly...
Really good park, plenty of room for children to run about and let off steam. Lots of different trails to take (which are all signposted) these trails have concrete/gravel and are wide enough to walk and have cycling on. Boys loved the play trail as at intervals there are various different play equipment and one large play area with sand and climbing. We will definitely be back as it was really pleasant. We left around 4.30 on a sunday but toilets had been locked up which is a shame and the main down side.
Stopped on an off chance. Glad we did. Good walks twiste in and out for over an hour and did over 2 miles. Easy pay parking. Cafe limited opening as are the toilets. Great place for children.
A great park to have a nice walk around, there are also playground equipment scattered along the “play trail”, ranging from zip lines, swings, musical things, and slides. However, the review is 4* because some of the equipment is currently out of use due to management and some construction with fencing. You can walk up a hill and also see the “Birds of Freedom” statue. Furthermore, you can also walk around the lake via the bridleway.
Great day out for kids, lots of entertaining things to play with and explore as you walk or cycle round. Nice little cafe as well.
