Stunning family walking spot! With multiple distance options. Main car park is currently closed. Currently has porter loos and bins for rubbish. No parking fee. Roads leading to the forest walk were VERY narrow / single track at times.

Great forest with well marked paths. The bog areas have a board work and the rest is stone / gravel. We completed the blue trail ( about 6.5k) and the yellow trail (about 2.5k). Some steep areas on both. Great waterfalls and amazing views on both trails. Car park is free but has only about 25 spaces (estimated) and can get busy and is often very full. Port-a-loos also available in the car park.

One of the best forests I’ve ever visited. Even though the weather was a bit rainy and windy, it didn’t take away from the experience at all – the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. The nature here is stunning, peaceful, and very relaxing. The highlight for me was the wooden walkway along the river (the boardwalk area), which was especially lovely and made the walk feel really special. Another big plus is that the parking is free, which was really great and made the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and go for a scenic walk. I would definitely recommend visiting, no matter the weather!

Some really nice walks in and around the forest. A fairly difficult place to get to . Very narrow one width roads from both directions. A great place to take dogs . Enjoy a ice cream from the van by the carpark.

Beautiful autumnal walk for a few hours following the red, blue then yellow routes. All very well signposted too. Key points: • Dog friendly which is always a bonus for us. • The boardwalk is stunning but only around 30 mins in duration, if you require accessible paths this may be disappointing. • We arrived early as staying in the local area so was very peaceful but definitely gets busier in to midday time! • Rhyd-y-benwch carpark is free but tiny and currently has portaloos.
