A really nice country park with a lot of Somerset history. It's best to start off at the new visitors center for information and a cup of tea or coffee. Then have a great walk to find the Ham stone quarry, hill fort area, war memorial, standing stone circle and much more. Bring a picnic is always recommended, some good places to sit and even some picnic tables. There is a great pub here to with a dog wash. Toilets available at the visitors centre and the Pub only.

Absolutely stunning spot with history, views, and perfect walks! Just spent a beautiful sunny afternoon at Ham Hill Country Park and it’s easily one of the best country parks in Somerset. This place is massive (one of the largest Iron Age hillforts in Britain) and packed with so much to explore — ancient ramparts, old quarry workings with golden Hamstone, wildflower meadows, woodland trails, and incredible panoramic views across the South Somerset Levels all the way to the Mendips and beyond. We did a circular walk that took us through open grassland, shady woods, and up to some of the higher points for those breathtaking vistas. There’s a lovely mix of easy gravel paths and more rugged terrain, so it suits everyone from families with kids to serious walkers. The kids loved climbing the grassy mounds left from the old quarries, and we even spotted some wildlife along the way. A real highlight was finishing the walk at The Prince of Wales pub, which is perfectly located right on the hill within the country park. What a treat! Dog-friendly with stunning views from the terrace, a welcoming vibe for muddy boots and walkers. It’s the ideal spot to relax with a pint or a meal after exploring. The visitor centre and café are a nice bonus too — friendly staff, decent coffee and snacks, and clean toilets. Plenty of free parking, though it does get busy on weekends. Highly recommend this place whether you’re into history, photography, dog walking, or just want a proper escape into nature. We’ll definitely be back!

What a hidden gem! Views to die for. Ample parking. Hidden pub! Even with my disability when walking, there were plenty of benches to take a rest. Beautiful. Interesting. Loved it! Dogs enjoyed the walk too
