A large green area, more like a park than a common, with an open grassy space to the south and partly open and partly wooded land to the north. There is also a BMX track, a large colourful play area, and an outdoor gym.

We met some friends here on a recent visit to London to see family. This is a lovely big common with a gravel pump track which was great for our little riders (aged between 3-8 years old) there's also a great playground with well maintained equipment of a wide variety catering for all ages in our party. The common was clean and litter free. My husband grew up nearby and his brother went to the school nearby and they didn't know the common was there, a great little find to keep kids occupied on a weekend or school holidays!

If you’re lucky enough to live in one of London’s richest boroughs, Richmond upon Thames, and even luckier to live in The Hamptons, but luckiest yet to live near or by Hampton Common, you’re one of the privileged few. Hampton Common is a true country common—steeped in historic significance and blessed with incredible proximity to Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Green, the serene River Thames, and a host of other marvellous historic landmarks. Yet, despite being right in London, it offers an astonishing peaceful tranquility that feels worlds away from the city hustle. The tree-lined roads leading to it are beautiful, the local community radiates friendly smiles everywhere you go, and the surrounding houses start at around a million pounds—reflecting just how desirable this spot is. The green itself is wonderfully significant as a community hub: locals walk their dogs (and cats in some cases!) while always exchanging warm greetings. It’s a fantastic place for building that real sense of community. On weekends, you’ll see young talented children playing organised football under the guidance of sports’ best and top coaches—such a joy to watch. There’s a great BMX track for thrill-seekers, a free outdoor gym, beautiful wooded green teeming with wildlife including woodpeckers, owls, and friendly foxes that add to the magical rural feel. Plus, a lovely playground with a free zip wire which keeps the youngest ones happily entertained. Above all, Hampton Common has that real, lovely feel—a peaceful, welcoming luxury with blooming flowers and hollow trees that makes every day feel special. Highly recommend—5 stars without hesitation!

This feature transforms the park into a hub for health-conscious individuals, making exercise a part of their outdoor routine. The walking path serves as a tranquil escape for those seeking a peaceful stroll amidst the park's natural beauty. This path not only encourages physical activity but also provides a serene environment for contemplation and relaxation. However, one drawback is the absence of toilet facilities. This inconvenience can be a drawback for visitors, especially families and those who plan longer stays at the park. The park's dog-friendly policy is a plus for pet owners. It provides a space for dogs to stretch their legs and socialize. However, an issue arises from the number of dogs being off-leash. This might cause concerns for visitors who are uncomfortable around dogs or for those who want a controlled environment for their own pets. In conclusion, Hampton Common Park presents a mix of amenities that cater to a diverse range of interests. While the playground, cycling track, exercise equipment, and walking path enhance the park's appeal, the lack of restroom facilities and the presence of off-leash dogs could be areas for improvement in order to provide a more convenient and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Lovely local park, with a large children's play area, football pitch, and pavement throughout. Brilliant for walking the dogs, but do bare in mind that there are gaps within the boundary fence.
