What a great place for all ages to feed your curiosity about steam engines. Kind and friendly welcoming staff. Nice cute cafe with delicious coffee and cake for little break too. No wait for entry but we bought tickets just 15 minutes before the time online. guided tour Bob was Excellent with great knowledge and enthusiasm.

We went for the first time to this place for the Easter hunt extravaganza. It was a very beautiful small place with little train, train shaped bench, a little shop as well. Overall, I felt the train ride was expensive, £5.50 for adults and £3.50 for child. A bouncy castle or other physical play activities at least would have been better. It was not crowded.

I went on an open day when they had a model railway exhibition too. Was a bit expensive for what it is but the kids enjoyed riding the steam train. It’s a small area with circular track with horses in the middle and they got a cafe and gift shop. Great place to take young kids or if you’re into trains and steam locomotives.

My older brother (who has Downs and other disabilities) had requested a steam train ride for his birthday. We were able to book an entire carriage to accommodate our large family, as well as a few of his friends! The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the a picnic in the space provided. Every single volunteer/ staff member was absolutely exemplary in their role. A wonderful day out for all the family. Thank you very much to all involved.

Thank you to the team at the Railway, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We didn’t book online beforehand, but can imagine during the school holidays it can get rather busy so might be worth going. Parking is free and plentiful, there’s a place to get snacks and drinks. One ride is three loops of the circuit and my toddler loved it, can’t wait to go back!
