My favourite park for the kids and dogs

I recently visited Harrison Park in Wallasey, and it is undoubtedly one of the most scenic and versatile spots on the Wirral coastline. Spanning a massive area between New Brighton and Wallasey Village, the park is defined by its sweeping, open grasslands that feel like a natural extension of the Wallasey Sand Hills and the Irish Sea beyond. The 2026 experience is perfect for those who love active outdoor space; it’s a premier hub for local football and cricket, but it also features a recently upgraded children’s play area and a popular outdoor gym. What I loved most was its unique "coastal-park" hybrid feel—you can be walking through a traditional green park one minute and be crossing over the dunes to the promenade the next. With the iconic Leasowe Lighthouse visible in the distance and the fresh sea air constantly blowing through, it’s a clean, expansive, and invigorating place that’s just as good for a serious workout as it is for a breezy Sunday dog walk.

Nice place, lovely views as you can see in the pictures. Two children's playgrounds, football field. Not very big, but will be going again. Dog loved it.

Nice, well kept park. Great for walking the dog. Well equipped play area for kids. Popular with families and dog walkers alike.

Beautiful place. Clean beaches with clear waters suitable for swimming most definitely. I would say that there are far too many dogs on that particular stretch of beach closest to the harvester restaurant.
