Beautiful lakes, lovely place to visit and Free! Plenty of parking, there is an overflow car park across the main road. Food hut, toilets, camping grounds and locker rooms for them. Loads of benches, bins, trees and wildlife. Pathway is pretty good, there are cycling routes and open fields and a playground.

​Hartsholme Country Park is a lovely spot to escape for a few hours and is absolutely worth a short drive if you're in the surrounding areas. The park is beautifully kept, featuring picturesque walking trails that wind around the scenic lakes and through quiet woodlands. It's an absolute haven for wildlife, too—you'll see loads of birds, squirrels, and interesting bugs along the way. ​There is plenty of open green space perfect for setting up a picnic, along with plenty of benches scattered throughout if you just want to sit and take in the views. For families, the children's play area is excellent, clean, and very well maintained. ​Parking is great and hassle-free, with an main lot and extra overflow parking right across the road if it gets busy. Conveniently, you can also find public toilets right by the ranger station, and there’s a great little cafe/ice cream store on-site for refreshments. Highly recommended for a peaceful day out in nature!

Beautiful place to visit, lovely walk with very friendly squirrels and ducks to feed. Few benches scattered around. A few hidden bits of history to find on site. Children's park in a secure area with large field around it for picnics. Seperate small area for older kids/teens. Warden available opposite the cafe. Small cafe on site open till 4. Outside seating only. Does drinks and a few basic bits until dinner time. Standard prices. Lost a star because of the fact the cafe area Doesn't have any dog bowls/water available. Asked at the cafe and wardens office, nothing available but a cardboard cup from the cafe which they would charge 20p for....site is dog friendly except this

A rainy day well spent – beautiful park with great facilities! We visited Hartsholme Country Park on a very wet, rainy day and were honestly surprised at how enjoyable it was. The tree coverage is fantastic, offering natural shelter that made walking around much more pleasant than expected. There’s plenty of free parking, and the park is really well laid out, with clear paths and maps throughout. There are loads of different walkways leading to and around the lakes, and the wildlife is amazing – we spotted birds, ducks, squirrels, and even a few dragonflies. The children’s play area looked modern and well-kept, perfect for families. One big plus is the free public toilets, which were spotlessly clean, and there are even showers on-site for campers – a really thoughtful touch for those staying longer. As for accessibility, I’d say it’s disabled friendly to a certain extent. The paths are mostly flat and either concreted or gravelled, though slightly bumpy in parts. Still manageable for wheelchairs or prams with some care. All in all, a fantastic spot to enjoy nature – rain or shine. We’ll definitely be back, hopefully on a sunnier day to explore even more!
