What an amazing place to visit We had a private tour which meant we also saw the original palace and where the young queens and king where educated and lived Despite the hot weather the gardens were wonderful and if it had been cooler we would have done the woods walk. The house itself is wonderful and each room is beautiful laid out with information boards and guides to help you Well worth a visit for a full day.

Great place to visit, Hatfield House is full of history but make sure to book on the Old Palace Tour, especially if Dermot is the Guide. What a charming, interesting man! Very knowledgeable and brings the time and place alive with his stories and anecdotes. Excellent tour!

We spent a fantastic afternoon at Hatfield House. We took the Old Palace tour with the guide, Dermot, and it was brilliant! I had no idea there was so much history in this place. Dermot is a great storyteller. I can’t wait to visit the main house when it opens for tours. The gardens are beautiful, and we had a lovely walk in the woodland. The cafe and the ice cream place are amazing, too. Highly recommended!

We recently visited Hatfield House. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences I had. The house is very beautiful, the woodland, park and garden are spectacular, with thr facilities of excellent restaurant and cafe, all the staff are very kind, friendly and patient. I have to say the best part of our visit was the visit to the old Palace and the tour guide, Mr Dermot , was one of the best tour guides I have ever seen. Very kind and polite, and with a high volume of knowledge of English history and the history of the castle that brings history to life and many times he brought tears to my eyes with the passion and excitement he had in narrating the history. I have to say that his presence is a very high point for this house and he introduces the grandeur of this place and the history of England very well. This place is less than 20 minutes from London and it is possible to play tennis and you can also have a picnic here.

What a wonderful place this is to visit, especially if you're a history lover or architecture enthusiast! I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman. We would definitely visit again!!
