Worth the walk to the furthest hide (1.2 miles) None of the hides and platforms are ideal for watching the river but the reedbeds are its reason to be and we did see the bearded reedlings from a couple of the hides, notably from the viewing platform near the car park. A cuckoo was also seen at the far hide flying and calling from various shrubs in the reeds

Three hides and a wonderful walking route along the embankment and around the site. Also, good views of the adjacent Bly estuary. Parking is via a narrow entrance off the main road and easy to miss. The site is largely reedbeds, but good for Bittern, Great White Egret, Marsh Harrier and Bearded Tit.

Stunning scenery, very calm and peaceful. Not many birds around this evening, but we heard a Bittern booming, a Cuckoo in the distance and saw a Harrier chasing a Heron that had caught a fish.

A nice place, just be aware that the car park is a short walk from the main part of the site and you have to cross a busy main road. Otherwise, it's very pleasant there are 3 hides overlooking different areas, and we saw a wide selection of birds, including reed warblers, reed buntings, egrets, geese, etc as well as various repters flying over the area.
