We came from Canada to visit the Hill of the O'Neill as part of our ancestry tour of Northern Ireland. We pre-booked a private tour. We arrived to a warm greeting from Emma who was our tour guide. She was very knowledgable on the history of the area and gave us a wonderful tour. She was kind and personable and made us feel like we were family! We highly recommend visiting here and the tour is definitely worth it!

Great place. Watch out for yhe off season when the visitor centre is closed

Spent a fabulous morning here as part of an over 60's club. The history of the house and surrounding area is so interesting and the audio tour is most informative, as are the very pleasant and attentive staff. The gardens are beautiful to walk around and there are lots of benches scattered throughout on which to rest. The only thing I feel is lacking is an en site cafe, however, there are a few close by in the town centre. All and all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend to others.

On a clear day, the views from The Hill of O'Neill are impressive. I was genuinely surprised by how many Northern Ireland landmarks I could see, for example, Lough Neagh, Slemish Moutain/ Antrim Plateau, the Belfast Hills and the Mourne Mountains. I've visited Dungannon on many occasions but have never ventured up here before and was impressed by how well designed the site is. The site is suitable for all mobility levels. There were plenty of picnic benches too and interesting information boards were dotted around the site. I visited early evening in April and the vehicular access gates were closed, but a pedestrian gate was open. The house was closed due the lateness of my visit. I would happily visit here again and would recommend it as a place to visit if ever in Dungannon.

I was horrified by the unnecessary amount of concrete in this place! So many unnecessary ramps and catwalks. The pathways are fine for wheelchairs and buggys! There's no need for so much structure! And so many handrails, and lights and warnings. I don't know what's so dangerous about that place that the government needs to ruin the place to hold the hand of the tourists that visit... I wish I had more pictures to show how ridiculous that was!
