Lovely place to sit and relax. Well kept gardens with a variety of plants and flowers
Tucked away in Hillsborough Park this walled garden is a really great example of how to do a walled garden well! Visiting In July the garden is an absolute riot of colour; I’ve probably seen it at its finest. It’s not very big but it is chock full of such a variety of planting from herbs to fruit trees, dahlias, roses… the list goes on. Rather than rigid planting there is a real flow to the garden. It’s a lovely place to just sit and marvel at the surroundings. From the Walled Garden you can pop down to the Bakery Depot for coffee and cake or head out into the main park to the play areas or the fishing lake. Well worth a visit!
This walled garden is a lovely fined within Hillsborough Park. There are benches dotted around, where you can just sit and relax watching the wildlife. You can take dogs in, but they need to be kept on the lead.
Really like coming here. It is a great little haven; a place to sit and relax and enjoy nature. Lots of colour, all kinds of different planting. Love it.
Hillsborough Walled Garden is a hidden gem, a serene little garden nestled in Hillsborough Park by the road. There is a trellis covered with clematis, wisteria and laburnum; weathered bricks surrounding raised beds of vegetables or aromatic flowers; a gentle fountain with many memorial benches and several ornamental trees including acer, flowering cherry and eucalyptus. After a while, you can drown out the road noise and listen to the bird song. The opening hours vary with the season, check first to avoid disappointment.
