A beautiful park with well-kept gardens and plenty of green space to relax and unwind. The walking paths are clean, the flowers and trees are well maintained, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect place for a morning walk or an afternoon picnic. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, making it a great spot for families, couples, and anyone looking to spend some quality time outdoors. Highly recommended for a refreshing visit.
Nice park which looks well kept. I came here to visit the statue of local legend Jack Charlton.
Lovely walk around the park . Some amazing roses and they smelt lovely
Good place for a walk. You have a play area for young children. Basketball courts, and a tennis court. On site is a bowls area. Or you can just go for a walk and take in the views of the flowers
I walk through Hirst Park regularly, it has received a recent make over, good play area for young children, basketball and football areas have been upgraded, its a shame the bowling greens have not been upgraded, considering the long history bowls has been associated with the park, there are still ongoing issues with the opening of the toilets within the pavilion, a meeting has been planned for the 29/07/22 to discuss if a seasonal café/tuck shop would be viable in the future, nice setting for relaxing and walking, well maintained, the park has been earmarked to be made a safer place to visit, especially for females, I can only presume this is aimed at those entering the park after dark, overall I feel safe during the times I visit, I'd still recommend the park for a visit... Since I wrote my initial review the park has become unsafe due to antisocial behaviour by children...
