Holywells Park is a beautiful 28-hectare green space located one mile southeast of Ipswich town centre, offering something for people of all ages. The park boasts a rich history dating back to medieval times and is designated as a County Wildlife Site, Conservation Area, and registered on the English Heritage Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest. Families can enjoy Imagination Island, a creatively designed children's play area featuring exciting equipment including Croc Creek bridge, dolphin and shark springers, and DiGBY the octopus seesaw. During summer months (late May to early September), the splash pad opens daily from 11am to 5pm, perfect for children aged up to 8 years old. The park also features a teen area with outdoor gym equipment, table tennis tables, and a kick wall. Visitors will find excellent facilities including the Stable Block Visitor Centre with Bishops Café and Tearoom (open from 8:30am daily), a Victorian conservatory available for hire, walled garden with open-air theatre space and maze, various walking trails including the Trim Trail, an ice house, and bowling green. The park includes a Changing Places facility for those with profound and multiple disabilities, making it accessible for all visitors. Holywells Park sits just a short walk from Ipswich town centre and has this lovely blend of formal gardens, a big old walled section and more natural woodland slopes down to the ponds. You’ll often see locals out walking dogs, families picnicking on the grass or kids splashing about in the play area, while the historic Holywells House adds a nice touch of grandeur at the top of the hill. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend an hour or two wandering the paths without it ever feeling too busy or manicured. 🌳🏰✨

Best park in Ipswich imo. Fantastic children's play area. Huge green spaces for ball games with 5 a ide goals. Great for wildlife. Beautiful gardens.
