Really enjoyed our trip down the mine. Made all the more enjoyable by our guide, who had the right amount of humour and entertainment Vs detailed information, keeping everyone including the children on the tour engaged. A good 90 minute trip, including the short bus journey, definitely worth the cost of the tour to see England's last working slate mine and learn the history behind it all. Well stocked shop, with everything from wine racks and door signs to fridge magnets, cutlery and garden items, including custom while-you-wait sign engraving, all of it with the quality slate from the mine. Stunning views all around too

Fantastic adventure! We really enjoyed our time doing Climb the Mine and Infinity Bridge Walk. Big thanks to Luke for patiently assisting us throughout the climb especially when it turned out there were only two of us in the session. Everything felt safe and comfortable. All good fun! The extra fee for the photos was worth it since they captured these moments brilliantly!

Such an amazing place with lovely staff. My small group was booked onto "Climb the mine". I loved it! Our groups guide was so lovely and he gave us great history about the mine in between the climb. I'm sorry, I forgot our guides name but it began with the letter "B" and he was really patient and knowledgeable. We arrived as a party of 3 with 2 other outsiders. So our whole group was smaller and we bonded well. We all said we would love to try many of the other activities. I do feel I need to build upon my upper body strength to take on the extreme next time. The climb a mine was challenging for me as a perimenopausal 47 Yr old with zero fitness. Never stepped inside a gym my whole life. To others it might be a walk in the park but to even see inside the scale of this mine is truly amazing. And I'm aching today from it but definitely no regrets. And yes, I think I need to get to the gym to improve my strength and stamina before the next tough cliff challenge. 😊

We visited Honister Slate Mine on Thursday, for my 40th birthday. We went on the 14.30 mine tour, and it was great! The views from the top were amazing, as was seeing inside the mine, and even the journey to/from the top on the bus was great (thankyou to the lovely bus drivers). Our tour guide was very informative, engaging and entertaining... thanks to him and the rest of the tour group for singing happy birthday to me in the lower level, and even though the candle wouldn't behave, the effort was very much appreciated! I would definitely recommend going on a mine tour. There's also some very lovely things in the gift shop. I would also like to thank Jessica H, the activity co-ordinator, for answering all my email queries leading up to our visit... great customer service.

Had a great time. The activity was a bit daunting on the first section. We did the classic via ferrata not the extreme. Our guide was Andy. Nice chap, he was very clear and precise with his instructions which helped us a lot throughout the experience. Would definitely recommend this activity if you enjoy the mountains, like scrambling or just want to test your fear levels. £20 for photos at finish was a bit expensive so try taking your own like I did, just make sure you don’t drop your camera because you won’t see it again 😊
