We visited Horseshoe Falls as a family and had such a lovely day out. It is a beautiful spot surrounded by stunning scenery, and the sound of the flowing water makes it a really peaceful place to relax. The kids had a fantastic time paddling in the shallow areas and exploring the riverbank, while we enjoyed a picnic by the water. If you are planning to get into the water, be careful as the rocks can be quite slippery, so it is worth wearing suitable footwear and keeping an eye on little ones. The area is perfect for families, with plenty of space to sit, enjoy the views, and spend a few hours outdoors. One thing we really liked is that Horseshoe Falls is not just a natural attraction, it is actually a historic horseshoe shaped weir designed by Thomas Telford to feed water into the Llangollen Canal, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site around the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. It makes the visit even more interesting knowing there's so much history behind it. Parking was easy, costing £2.50 for 2 hours or £6 for the whole day, and you can pay by card. There are also public toilets nearby, which is very convenient for families. One thing to keep in mind is that there are not any food stalls or cafés at the falls themselves, so it is a good idea to bring your own food, drinks, and snacks if you are planning to spend a few hours there. Overall, it is a fantastic place for a family day out, a picnic, a gentle walk, or simply enjoying the beautiful North Wales countryside. We'd definitely recommend it and would happily visit again!

Nice place for a paddle and a swim. National trust car park, with meter for non members. Short walk down hill to the falls and swimming area. It's about 5ft deep in places so need to keep a close eye on younger kids. Great fun though.

Beautiful area to visit. Steep hill or steps down to the falls but absolutely amazing once you're there. The Horshoe is bigger than I thought, canoes going over it was great to see too 😀 It was busy, parking was a bit difficult, but had a brilliant time

Beautiful place, there is a lovely little cafe at the entrance with toilets ( also disabled) the down stairs of the house and top gardens are all accessible and on the flat may be a small raise. But upstairs and the grotto are not accessible. However if you can take a walk down to the grotto area it is Beautiful with a winding path along side a picturesque river, loads of wildlife and bridges. One of my favourite things to do is walk through the trees .

FREE to enter with parking very close to the falls, parking cost us £2.50 which was really good value. 2 miles out of Llangollen its very well sign posted and easy to find the parking area. The falls were in a really nice setting with a number of people there enjoying the fresh air and countryside by the falls and river. A couple of intrepid explorers were wild swimming in what seemed to be quite shallow water. Was a nice walk down from the carpark with a beautiful view. There is also a toilet block at the car park which good to have these immeanities on site. Leading away from the falls there is a canal side walk that looked inviting. It was well worth a visit so we would definitely return. Yet another water fall that North Wales has that is now crossed of the list.
