Hotham Park

Bognor Regis, United Kingdom•4.6(2.6k)•City Park, Playground

Explore 22 acres of tranquil parkland in the heart of Bognor Regis, featuring mature exotic trees, playgrounds, and year-round community events.

Hotham Park is an urban yet tranquil 22-acre open space located just a short walk from Bognor Regis seafront. Opened to the public in 1947, the park boasts a rich history dating back to its origins as the private estate of plant collector William Fletcher and Sir Richard Hotham, the founder of Bognor Regis. The park features many mature trees of both exotic and native varieties planted during the Fletcher period, with ongoing programmes to plant additional trees. Following a significant Heritage Lottery Fund investment of £2.2 million awarded in 2006, the park underwent comprehensive restoration, completed in September 2009. This restoration earned Hotham Park its first Green Flag Award, recognising its excellent standards of maintenance and management. The park offers family-friendly amenities including playgrounds suitable for various ages, a café, and facilities catering to pushchair users and dog owners. The park is a vibrant community hub, actively supported by numerous groups including the Hotham Park Heritage Trust, which has maintained a strong presence for over two decades. The annual Hotham Park Country Fayre attracts up to 15,000 visitors over an August weekend, while Bognor Regis Parkrun, launched in 2014, hosts weekly 5k runs every Saturday, making the park a destination for both leisure and active recreation.

Great park with plenty to do. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Train rides open. Twice round for £4 each. Great cafe (could class it as restaurant) serving ice creams, coffees, cakes. Also meals including breakfasts, brunch, pasta, pizza, and other dinners. Licensed too. We also did the crazy golf which was in good condition.

A great place to spend time with the family. There's a playground for children, a zipline, and mini golf. Plenty of space for a picnic. There's a café where you can enjoy coffee and a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Super cute small park with lots of going on. It has a small boating pond, train tracks and train that’s operating on weekends for kids, a playground, and bandstand. There are wooden sculptures of Alice in Wonderland, Red Queen, and a few other characters. Well behaved dogs are allowed to explore off a leash. It also has a cafe with a good selection of food and beverages. I would highly recommend this park if you’re visiting the area.

Lovely park with plenty of space for walk, little runs, play with kids, walk the dogs, few benches, and picnic tables. With a cafe, paddle area and little rail train. Plus some carved sculptures!! Everything seemed cleaned and well taken care of from the park staff.
