A beautiful, calm natural environment with a variety of habitats - woodland, heathland, bogs, etc. Lovely place to walk, take in the birdsong and admire the nature and views.

Hothfield Heathlands is an absolute treasure — a stunning 70-acre nature reserve that's one of the last remaining lowland heaths in Kent and feels like stepping into a different world. 🌾✨💜 The landscape is beautifully wild, with rolling heather moorland, ancient woodland, tranquil bogs, and open grassland that bursts with color in late summer when the heather's in full bloom. 🌸🦎☀️ It's a haven for wildlife — you'll spot dragonflies, butterflies, slow worms, and all sorts of birds, making it brilliant for nature lovers and photographers alike. 📸🦅🌿 The well-marked trails are gentle and accessible, perfect for a peaceful wander or a family outing, and there's something deeply restorative about the peace and quiet here. 🚶‍♀️💚 Managed brilliantly by Kent Wildlife Trust, it's dog-friendly (on leads), free to visit, and feels genuinely special — a rare slice of untouched heathland that deserves way more attention. A lovely escape. 🍂🌼

the highland cows are no longer here which would have been nice to know beforehand as this was the whole reason we came. However, we do understand why they have been moved. The walk was nice enough, but we did notice these two horses along the walk with some very overgrown and poorly kept hooves which makes me wonder who is supposed to be taking care of them?

Plenty of free parking. Cross the road to enter the woods with giant very ancient trees, then emerging into swathes of grass, heather and bracken... There are areas with bluebells in Spring. Meadows to explore on the far side. Some raised walkways through the rare bogland area. This has sundews, rare orchids and the beautiful cotton grass. But my favourite thing about this place are the Highland Cattle that roam freely throughout the grounds😍🤗❤️ It was an adventure tracking them down each time, as they obviously move throughout the park and are often in amongst the scrub or tall bracken in the Summer. Beautiful, calm, gentle creatures; who allowed us to get close enough for photos with the dog on the lead Dozens of different routes to explore... Many different types

Lovely place to walk. Lots of trees for kids to climb. Beautiful cows to see. Horses too. Car park is large but gets busy at the weekends. Nice it's a free car park.
