We had a fabulous time canoeing on this beautiful part of the river. Neil was really friendly and helpful. It was wonderful and we would highly recommend it.

What a great morning! I highly recommend Houghton Boats. Neil is a great bloke with heaps of local knowledge. He gave us a thorough safety brief and talked us through all the options on a useful map. The Canadian canoe was very stable and easy to manoeuvre. We picked the best day for it - the weather was beautiful and it was so peaceful with loads of wildlife.

Neil is a gem! He gave us very good instructions on how to use the canoe, and we were able to thoroughly enjoy the river without having too much of an issue (despite our inexperience!) He was very kind and just as entertaining! I think our boat rental was one of the best parts of our trip. Don't doubt yourself: go ahead and and try Houghton Boats!

I took the kids (11 and 9) on a last outing before school started and we had so much fun! Neil was so friendly and knowledgeable and was really great with the kids. Took a little paddle in a Canadian Canoe to St Ives (stopping for lunch under a tree on the way to dodge the rain), went under the bridge, stopped at "The Waits" and had an ice cream before paddling back. Very chilled and beautiful scenery and I particularly enjoyed seem completely different perspective of the area. Plenty more to explore too so will definitely go again. Highly recommended!

Great place to hire a canoe. Neil is hugely warm and welcoming, the equipment is all of a very high standard and it’s the perfect setting for a couple of hours out. Great for all ages, and you’ll almost certainly see some interesting wildlife. Highly recommended
