It is located at Fort Victoria Country Park, where there is plenty of parking right by the seaside. The planetarium offers shows at the astrodome theatre suitable for all ages. Thanks, Paul, for welcoming us. He is a wealth of knowledge and brought the history of the great scientist and inventor Robert Hooke, who was born in Freshwater in 1635, to life. The activities are incredibly informative and family-friendly. My teenage daughters were inspired and can’t wait to read the two books about space and the universe that they bought from the planetarium. We had a truly lovely day out with a touch of warm hospitality! Thank you.

Have been visiting this fantastic attraction on and off for some 25 years, and always a joy to behold. Yes, it's relatively low tech by today's standards, so if AI is your thing, you probably will not appreciate the passion gone into keeping this museum and Planetarium going. I, and my family loved it, and looking forward to another return visit again and again.... Long may it continue 🖖🙏👍👍👍

We had a lovely visit with our two children. We watched the Tim Peake show and we all really enjoyed watching the film and seeing all the space imagery. It made us feel very small. We enjoyed learning about Robert Hook's achievements too.

Delightfully idiosyncratic. Kooky. Wonderful. Run by people who love what they do, but not necessarily the most organised. It was a rainy day, and this was a perfect activity. There were only two staff: an older fellow who was a bit slow and not too hot on the latest payment technologies, and a younger chap who was very enthusiastic. The younger chap wasn't allowed to sell tickets yet, and the older one was in the earlier late running show. This caused a chaotic backup of people waiting to buy tickets, squished into the shop. Everyone there took it with good grace and humour, but if you take yourself too seriously, you would hate it. The Hooke museum is small but interesting, especially if you don't know the man's manifold achievements. The actual shows are fun. Children will learn a lot. They have 49 different shows and we were shown 3 in one sitting. One was a little dated and listed Pluto as a planet, but another was more up to date and listed it as a planetoid.
