Have visited here twice now. Once in November & then today. Value for money is great. Tickets under £10. On the small zoo scale but definitely get your money's worth. They have lions, goats, donkeys, cows, meerkats, otters & more. Can buy animal feed at the entrance which can be used to feed a few animals in the goad walk through. Main attraction is the crocodile house, never seen so many in one place. Will definitely be visiting again

Wish this was a bit closer to home but we'll worth the journey. Admission price is incredible value for money, £6 for an adult these days in unreal. Food is not cheap inside but expected, looked good quality which makes it easier to spend good money on. Good mix of animals with lots of hands on opportunities. Play areas looked great too. Well kept site and clean facilities. Best of all, dog friendly, ive told a lot of friends who cant wait to visit with their dogs. Will definitely return

An amazing collection of crocodiles, caiman and alligators - we were really surprised how many there were. Lovely woodland walk. No picnics allowed, which I understand as the price for entering the zoo is so reasonable. We arrived around midday though (in school holidays) and the tearoom was packed. Had to queue a while, but had a nice enough lunch there, good scone and baguette, and the chips were really nice. The farm shop/delicatessen seemed very popular too. There is a great play park, so good for families with younger children. We have been to many zoos, and while the animals here look healthy enough, we couldn't see signs of enrichment, and there was a lack of staff. Affordable to get in, so it seems it was more a method of entertaining the kids, rather than many people showing an interest in the animals. It seemed many adults were there for the BBQ, while their children were throwing food pellets at the goats, shouting at the animals, rattling the fences etc, and no staff monitoring. Worth a visit once (we were driving past and wanted somewhere to stretch our legs and have lunch) but I doubt we'd return.

We had a fantastic day out at Johnsons of Old Hurst! The park is really spacious and handled the large number of visitors comfortably without ever feeling overcrowded. Parking was easy too, with a large main car park and an even bigger overflow area. Entry was very reasonable for a family of four (£24 for 2 adults and 2 kids), especially considering how much there is to see and do. There are so many amazing animals, all well cared for and presented beautifully. The crocodile house was a real highlight — incredibly humid, but fascinating! We learned a lot, especially about Nile crocodiles — I didn’t realise just how massive they can get. The woodland walk was another lovely part of the visit, really peaceful and well laid out. Food is available on-site; we didn’t try it ourselves, but the prices looked quite reasonable. Facilities were good too — the toilet inside the park was spotless, and there’s also a mixed-gender toilet before entering. Overall, we were really impressed and had a great day. We’d happily make the 1.5-hour drive again to visit!

Great value for money and a lovely animal park. Everything was very clean and the kids had lots of fun. Unfortunately, I’ve had to drop a star due to the food situation. The main restaurant was closed, and the café had over an hour’s wait for food. We ended up getting a jacket potato from the outside BBQ (£6.50), which had no butter and hardly any cheese, so it was very dry. A simple cheese sandwich was £5, and there were no other vegetarian options available. When I asked a member of staff if there was anywhere else to get food, as the children couldn’t wait that long, she initially refused to suggest anything, saying there was food on site. I explained there weren’t suitable options for vegetarians and over an hr wait for food. She didnt know the restaurant was closed, and she eventually mentioned there was a McDonald’s about 15 minutes away. Unfortunately, I couldn’t look up other places as I wasn’t able to connect to the WiFi. Such a shame, as it took time away from enjoying the park while we searched for food with the children. Next time, we would definitely bring our own although it states you can't however it needs to manage the demand on busy days.
