Nice spot for a picnic and a walk around. Would have been a really impressive building back in the day before it was destroyed. There are still some English heritage information signs around. Free parking and entry.
Interesting ruins in a beautiful valley with picturesque bridge and cattle by the river. Free entry and parking, a lovely place to explore for an hour and have a picnic amongst the remains.
Hello, I am a Korean martial artist who regularly visits the UK to participate in martial arts competitions, and I have a keen interest in history. This historic site, boasting over 900 years of history, is truly magnificent. Like many other churches and monasteries in the UK, it was reduced to ruins by the order of Henry VIII, yet it still retains its grandeur.
Free parking 🅿️ Free entry excellent ruins on quite a large site surprising connection to Winston Churchill and the D Day landing. Great spot for a picnic dog 🐕 friendly.
So glad I decided to go see this place after I seen the sign simply stunning next to the river. Interestingly in WW2 they trained here for DDay and a board tells you the story amazing they used the old walls for net training and even cleared an area for landing craft to the river. Absolutely gorgeous place
