If you like birds, specifically waterfowl, this is a very good afternoon visit. Lots of swans, and ducks and geese, plus coots, gulls and moor hens, a good sizeable variety. It is very dirty with bird dropping close to the shore but that's to be expected. The playground needs and attention, but for an afternoon walk and feeding birds, this is a great choice.

A very scenic place great for walking and cycling as well as fishing. Whilst there someone fished a 20lb carp out the lake. The fishermen even had the tents up staying overnight by the lake. Great social scene around the fishing and the wildlife. Lots of variety in the bird population., Canada geese, Moor hens, Mallard ducks were the most numerous variety of aquatic birds co existing with a large population of seagulls. Lots of dog walkers are also there in evidence as is a large playground and playpark with various swings etc.

So many beautiful creatures here living in tandem with people. Northumbria Water have done a great job with the walking paths on the far side of the lake, thanks to them for that.
