We always break our journey to Cornwall, with a ride on the Launceston Steam Railway. The only drawback is that it doesn't operate on Saturdays. It's a wonderful experience, and a great relaxation technique. We nearly always have a ride, then have lunch in the cafe, then a second ride, a look round the museum, then set off again to our destination. We have been known to stop in on the way home too, probably will this year too ! It is a lovely living museum.

Have come here with residents from work every year since I started. Even brought a wheelchair each time to go on the train. If you choose the seat at the back, you will be at the front on the way back. They also have a cafe and a mini museum on site

We was not sure if it was open as the website said it was closed on a Thursday. We got to the car park and I thought that the whole place had closed down as it was unkempt and derelict. There was not any signage telling you were to go. The trains are really nice and they have been restored. I know it says you can ride all day for one price, but there is not anything at the end of the line to keep you there.

Lovely little railway - about 20 minutes each way with scenic views. Approx £15 each for a return ticket which was reasonable value for money and free parking on site. Nice to see a bit of railway heritage preserved so well.

Excellent heritage railway. Great and very friendly group of volunteers. Wonderful little quirky museum. Very reasonably priced cafe. Well stocked gift and book shop. What's not to life?
