As a retreat house it is lovely. If you expect 5* hotel accommodation you will be disappointed, eg no televisions in rooms. There is good wi-fi which overcomes the poor mobile signal. Dining room can be noisy with hard walls and groups present. Open country surrounds the place. Nice cafe and good food.

Nice quiet place to visit for relaxing and plenty of areas to explore. There is a fair size carpark area and a cafe which serves very nice food and drinks.

Don't tell anyone, but I love coming here for the lovely surroundings, the prayerful atmosphere and the care shown by the staff, plus the fabulous food of course! Have been coming for many years for retreats. Has got more pricey in recent years but, for DB&B, is comparable with other hotels. There is also a cafe, popular with walkers and others. The cakes are excellent. If you are a day visitor, please do remember to respect the quiet of the place.

Beautiful Abbey about 10 minutes drive from Uppingham. Went to the Carol Service there which is always fully booked followed by a 3 course set Christmas dinner. Great food with most of it grown at the Abbey or sourced locally. They also have a cafe that is very good for drop ins that does a range of snacks, cakes and lunches.

Stopped here on the way to Sauvey castle just up the road. It is a very peaceful place set in parkland with walled gardens. It has a small cafe with inside and outside seating which serves some nice food.
