Visit websiteReally enjoyed the train trip today. It was an interesting route going through different scenery ranging from countryside to housing and industry. It was nice to go at a slow leisurely speed. We could have done with a bit more time at the stopping point at the half way point as there was a lot to see.
We had a wonderful time at Leighton Buzzard Railway! The train ride was a perfect length to keep the attention of a 3-year-old and it was brilliant to see all the staff and volunteers dressed up for the occasion, either in their controller gear (top hat included!), shirt and dungarees, or their burgundy branded polo shirts. Waving to everyone going by was a real highlight, and all the team were just so friendly and lovely. Shout out to Sharon and young Jack, who was so knowledgeable about the trains at Stonehenge Works and made sure my son had plenty of bubbles to pop! The gift shop has plenty of souvenirs and the team there were really helpful. I loved the crafts shop at Stonehenge Works - lots of talented knitters, I could have bought the lot! Plus a good size cafe and park nearby, what more could you want?!
Attended the Santa Special yesterday with my 2 year old Grandson. Extremely impressed. The train ride was lovely and very much enjoyed. The volunteers were what made this so special, great with the children, dressed up and into character very well. The grotto area was much better than i was expecting and with activities too. Well done to all involved and thankyou for a lovely couple of hours. Happy Christmas
Fun afternoon out. It was a pirate day, and although my friends young lad did not want to participate in that, he loved the train ride and watching the pirates soak other people! The volunteers were lovely and knowledgeable answering questions.
This is an absolute must to visit if you want a different railway journey. It's run by volunteers who all do a fantastic job to keep this miniature railway running. Starting by pages park it travels along to the Stonehenge works crossing roads and running by homes you get to see Leighton Buzzard in a different view. We had a slight hiccup or a technical fault lol but that didn't disappoint us. They were apologetic and we weren't that late. It mirrors the problems of the grown up railway lol. I would highly recommend this and they cater for disabled people admirally
