Brilliant place for a days walk. Good lakes. Biggest one is great for fishing. Free to fish as long as you have a license.

Visited here for the first time on Sunday. Café experience was disappointing. Guy making all the food was a bit of a Mr Fawlty in that he was running around doing everything, cooking breakfasts for eat in and takeaway, cutting up food stuffs through one door and then running back into the cafe to cook. Lady on coffee duty only seemed to be doing coffee and even with that, she didn't deliver it hot. The queue was starting to build and so we didn't complain otherwise everyone would be waiting even longer. Ordered a bacon and egg roll, a bacon roll and 2 coffees and it took something like just over half an hour. We heard other visitors outside also commenting on the very slow service. Considering the prices, the service should be so much better. Maybe the cafe should be taking on more staff ?? Out of the two ladies toilets near the café, only one was working and even that one wasn't in an acceptable state. And with regards to the park itself, it definitely is very beautiful indeed, apart from some selfish dog owners who can't be bothered to clear up their dog's mess. Come on guys, you're giving all dog owners a bad name plus if you want to own a dog, clear up after them or don't have them! I will definitely be back to the park because it is beautiful but doubt I'll be going to the cafe or toilets.

A nice small country park with many walking routes and fishing ponds. Currently very dry and brown.

Great environment to get out for a sunny day with kids. They loved cycling the trails and the play park. We also booked up the education cabin for a get together with friends. This was a reasonable rate for 3 hours hire, had lots of private outdoor picnic space with some shade and a cabin which had heating should the weather have been worse.

A really lovely spot. I went for the first time to enjoy a peaceful and cool dog walk on a hot day. Sandy, well kept paths, excellent signage so I didn’t get too lost! Part is set aside for nesting birds, so dogs on leads, but a clear sign showed where they could run free again. It was easy to park and not crowded, so we found peace and met some friendly people and dogs along the way… and at the top, we had a super view!
