Great day out with lots to see. During the day we saw the following aircraft startup and taxi along the field Avro Lancaster, Mosquito and Anson. The main hangar houses the restoration bay, exhibits of recovered aircraft, dam busters road and the Manna mission. There are buildings covering radio, navigation, billet hut, briefing room and the control tower. Nice onsite cafe

We've been there a few times now. It's such an excellent place, and who doesn't like the roar of Merlin engines? Really hope Just Jane gets her wings soon. Photos are from the Lanc, Tank & Military Machines event May Bank Holiday Monday 2026

Great heritage centre with restored Lancaster and Mosquito (only running example left in Europe). We went to their Tanks, Lanc and military machines day which was brilliantly organised and attended. Lots of war time vehicles and equipment on display as well as 1940 music and performances. The tank firing display included a T34 tank which is quite a rarity to see moving ( the one at Blandford Tank Museum is static I believe) in the UK and of course the Lancaster and Mosquito doing runway taxiing which was fabulous. Overall a great day out for families and military aircraft enthusiasts.

Great place for WW2 British Aviation Heritage experience first hand! The exhibits included planes at various stages of restoration including the legendary Lancaster Bomber "Just Jane" and others.. There are other exhibits portraying other aspects of the operation including control rooms, home, bunkers, briefing room, vehicles, actual log books and more. Good visitor facilities also including a really good restaurant cafe, plenty of public toilets and free parking!. I visited with 3 under 8s and they had an amazing time. There is also a small play area for kids to give them some play time in between.

I paid 12.50 entry and header straight to the hangar to see the Lancaster. It really is awe inspiring up close with so much to read and see around it. There was a free tour at 11am when I went and it was absolutely superb. The guy leading it told us all about the history of this particular aircraft as well as Bomber Command in general. He walked us around Just Jane with lots of interesting stories. It was an emotional tour, and he pitched it perfectly. After that I had a walk around the rest of the airfield. There are lots of buildings with information and exhibits. If you're interested in WW2 history then you should definitely visit. There was a tour of the Mosquito in the afternoon but my back was giving out so I'll need to return another time for that.
