Great place to walk your dog loads of trails around the edge. Free parking for 60 mins and after that £3.00 for longer (day). Nice cafe too although I did not use it. Watched the watersports..wind surfing canoing. No dogs off lead around main area although did see some off lead and no dogs in water as being a resovoir.

Just had the most amazing time unwinding at my favorite spot! The walking trails were absolutely beautiful, perfect for clearing my head. I grabbed a coffee at the super cute lake view cafe – such a peaceful vibe. So many fun activities happening there in the summer, can't wait to go back!

What a wonderfully place this was. Plenty of parking, first 90 minutes free, so if you don't fancy staying or get back to the car before 90 mins, you don't need to pay, just leave,if staying longer only £3 all day, pay via app or there is a Paystation to use a card/wireless, or pay at lodge. Walks well published, several options, from 1.5 miles to 6 miles around the whole reservoir, we chose to do the 4 miles "up north and back", lovely views, comfortable large stoned path, not good it you had a wheelchair though. There's a activity centre to do sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoes, open water swimming. Did enquire about kayaking, it was £20 per session, a session was 90 mins, which sounded ok to me. A double kayak was £30 for 90mins. We called in cafe at the end of our walk, had a pasties and drinks. Food and cakes looked amazing. Would recommend to stop here, great views of the reservoir with inside and outside veranda seating.

Been here a few times and enjoyed a couple of walks in the area and meals in the cafe and visitor centre. Today's walk was an attempt at the circular walk around the reservoir. Not 100% successful as I lost the walk early on and ended up taking some country lanes and only picked up the circular route a few miles later, which was signposted well from then on. Some new views and a pleasant walk, but you can't walk around the edge of the reservoir, the path takes you away from it at various point.
