For a free nature reserve can’t complain, all the negative comments seem to be dog walkers …. The map clearly shows it’s not a big walking area! It’s built for nature and the birds. Just enjoy sitting and watching them! The viewing area is absolutely fine , it’s not immaculately clean …. But why should it be ?

A pleasant walk a long the woodland track which took me to a large hide where I could watch the wildlife in comfort on a bench. They also had an area where you could stand and lift a small window up and prop your camera in order to take photos . There is also a second walk that takes you around the lake which I didn’t do and a third short walk which takes you to a picnic area .

We enjoyed a lovely visit to the nature reserve but would have preferred a slightly longer walk, maybe around the lake itself. There were lots of wildfowl to be seen and for bird watchers, it's an ideal spot with a hide.

Beautiful lake but other reviews are right, this isn't the site for a walk. Bird watching definitely. My 10 year old and 8 year old were a bit bored but they would have loved it as toddlers or KS1. Good place to bring younger kids for a picnic and a play

Visited recently - nice little nature reserve which has been created out of unused space (there is a board that tells the story of how the reserve came about). There are a few benches to sit at, a kids playground area, a sheltered look out and also a sheltered cabin sort of area with little open windows and a large window which looks out onto the main island where the birds reside. Inside the cabin, there is information about the reserve and the type of birds you may see. The car park is sufficient and is free. However... This is a nice nature reserve if you are passing by it or are already in the area, but after visiting, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there specifically. The walk around the reserve didn't even take 10 minutes it was a very short circle and both me and my partner were surprised by how short the actual path part was - plus the birds don't actually come very close so unless you have binoculars or zoom in on your phone camera you can't see them in detail. Was still a nice visit as part of our day out.
