Llyn Llech Owain Country Park is a sprawling 73-hectare destination offering diverse outdoor experiences for families and nature enthusiasts. The park features an adventure playground with newly refurbished, accessible equipment suitable for children of all abilities, surrounded by picnic benches where parents can relax while children play. A network of well-surfaced footpaths accommodates wheelchair users, and a specially constructed path provides safe access around the peat bog and lake. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including nature trails through heathland and broadleaved woodland, forest tracks for hiking or biking, and a rough mountain bike trail for more adventurous cyclists. The park's centerpiece is a beautiful lake surrounded by a rare peat bog designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Children will appreciate the Welsh legend of Owain Lawgoch, after whom the lake is named, adding cultural interest to their visit. Facilities include Caffi Owain café (open 10am-4pm daily), picnic areas, accessible toilet facilities, and an outdoor meeting shelter. The Discovery Tower, normally offering interactive games and information about the park, is currently closed for maintenance. Dogs are not permitted in the adventure play areas. The park is suitable for families with children from ages 0 and upwards, with accessible features throughout. Paid parking is available on-site with reasonable rates and annual permit options.

This was a lovely walk round the lake and further, we went on a bank holiday weekend so it was pretty busy with dog walkers and children but it big enough that you can find some peace and quiet there are plenty of benches dotted around if you need a sit down, and a few random shelters if the weather changes. The hides are a bit tired and there wasn't much to hide from but that was probably the time of year.

What am awesome place. Just a beautiful walk that I don't think I explored fully with my daughter. A lake, a play area. Couldn't have asked for a nicer few hours out with her. Plenty of wildlife to spot. There's bike trails, she could have taken her off road scooter. Just amazing. All you have pay for is the parking. Didn't try the cafe. Can't recommend this place enough.

Parking on site (pay and display). Small cafe with basic refreshments - hot and cold drinks, paninis, child's lunch box, some chocolate snacks, cakes, crisps, and ice cream. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, and there is a child's play area opposite. Very picturesque - lots of photo opportunities - and a decent walk around the lake. We visited the wildlife feeding station, too, and it was lovely to enjoy a moment of peace watching the birds and squirrels feeding. We visited during the winter on a very cold day and there were plenty of other people there. I imagine it gets very busy during the summer.
