Went on a Monday morning and no trouble parking in the free car park. Car park has picnic benches, with squirrel feeders nearby— spotted several squirrels there. I followed the marked walking route, which was well signposted and easy to navigate. Along the way, I saw another squirrel near the top of the lake. Overall, it’s a great walk accompanied with plenty of birds and a good chance of seeing red squirrels. From the car park, you can also walk through Newborough Forest down to the beach, which takes about an hour.
Great place to walk your dog. Very peaceful.
Parked the car and wandered through the woods with doggo (~1 hour walk) to the astonishingly beautiful beach at Newborough. Spectacular views. There is a car park closer to the beach (Newborough National Nature Reserve & Forest) for those that don't want to walk through the woods - but we loved it 😄
Great for wildlife and bird enthusiasts, though we have visited twice and only ever seen red Squirrels on the feeders next to the car park 🤭
We had a beautiful walk around the woods. I've been looking all over for 2 years to see the Red Squirrels and I finally got my wish. Right near the seating area. It was amazing. So clean and tidy except for a local dropping his Orange skin in the car park, which absolutely disgusted us
