Have to come an hour before your paid boat trip because the queues can be long, a small cramped shop with a lot of puffin merchandise! The coffee machine isn’t amazing but ok to warm you up on a cold day!

We had such a magical time watching the puffins for the first time during the one-hour cruise. Thank you, Jim, for sharing your knowledge of puffins with us in such a humorous way. The whole team was lovely. Next time, we’ll book further in advance so that land on the island and see them closer.

Cute little place with a huge walk in the deer park and a little pebbme beach. You can catch the boat over to skomer island from here. The shop has alot of souvenirs and gifts. I highly recommend the coffee here only £2 and taste delicious. They have live feed in there of the puffins on skomer island. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. Very clean and run well

The photos are unedited, straight off my camera. This was the first time I have been to Skomer and for me, it was the trip of a lifetime. I will definitely be back. Luckily the day I went was the nicest day of the week with other boat trips being cancelled. I'm going to look at staying on the island next time and really fully experience Skomer. Top tip, even if it doesn't feel that warm, put suncream on, I forgot to and burnt my face and neck! The shear abundance of wildlife was breathtaking to see. All the birds on this post are new lifers for me (I'm a bird spotter) so my list growing.

Do you like birdwatching, do you want to see puffins? Then come here for a boat trip to or around the skomer island. Lots of different birds to see. You can also find seals and with some luck dolphins. After the trip you can get yourself a hot drink and souvenirs with puffins in the visitor centre. Note: access to the boat can be tricky for anyone with mobility issues as you need to walk up some steps and uneven rocky ground.
