Lovely walk. Lots of butterflies and dragonflies. Paths slightly overgrown with grass in parts but overall ok.

Always a pleasure to visit Loynton Moss and the nearby canal. Both are very muddy at the moment.

Small car park just off the main road. Great place to park for a short walk around the nature reserve. Plus, there's a path on the walk that connects to the Norbury canal. Free parking. Take wellies in the winter or when it's raining. Takes about 30 minutes to walk.

It's a pleasant walk through Loynton Moss, with woodland and open bog to explore. The ground at the bog is unusual in that it's a floating mat (formed in the last ice age!). Jump (carefully), and you can see the surrounding ground, trees & plants all wobble! Plenty of fungi around on our Autumn walk. Information boards along the route with pathways throughout the woods.
