Luton Hoo Memorial Park is a significant heritage site located on Tennyson Road in Luton, dedicated to commemorating those who lost their lives during World War I. The park was presented to the people of Luton by Lady Wernher, Lady of the Manor of Luton, on 12th June 1920 in memory of her son, 2nd Lieutenant Alexander Pigott Wernher, who was killed in action in 1916. The central war memorial was unveiled at a ceremony on 10th December 1922 and stands as a tribute to all the men of Luton who gave their lives during the Great War from 1914 to 1918. The park serves as both a recreational green space and an important historical monument, making it suitable for families seeking to understand local history while enjoying outdoor leisure time. Visitors can explore the memorial inscription and learn about the stories of those commemorated, while children can benefit from the open park setting. The site is free to visit and welcomes families with pushchairs and dogs, making it accessible for visitors of all ages.

Clean and well maintained park with plenty of benches to relax. There’s a pretty good kids play area and tennis court within the park. Ideal for a sunny day walk amidst the greenery.

One of the most beautiful parks in Luton. Very good park size, very clean and well kept. Less busy than other parks which makes it easier and better for people with dogs as there are lots of people bringing their dogs around. Very peaceful, beautiful roses and other flowers around.

A wonderful little park area, the water tower being here makes it even better. Some great Luton history in this part of the town. The water tower looks stunning and is a great sight to see and makes you happy you live in a lovely little town like Luton. The park area is very well kept and on my visit the Luton council were there tending to the roses. There was little in this place that i could see . there is a good play area for children. There is some small woodland running at the side of this park and it was nice to be able to walk through this and see some wild flowers. All together this is a must to visit for a couple hours out.
