Excellent large woodland area with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees , plants and shrubs. Many trails for walkers and cyclists to choose from. A recent addition is a multi purpose path suitable for wheelchairs and prams etc. Dog friendly, however there are no bins within the woodland but several near the entrance. Car park just off Pant Lane , Gresford , which accommodates about 10 vehicles. Plenty of benches to chose from to take a rest or to have a bite to eat. No facilities in terms of toilets or places to by food , however, there is a large Coop store and various eateries within 1 km of the entrance of Maes y Pant. Never gets busy and a great facility to go to I'm order to get some fresh air and to listen to and watch the wildlife. I noted 12 different species of bird calls on my app from Greater Spotted Woodpecker to the Song Thrush. Maes y Pant even has a wooden playground and an outdoor gymnasium built into the woodland . I would fully recommend Maes y Pant for anyone wanting peace and tranquility.
Stunning woodland walk for adults, kids and dogs! They have added an Enchanted Fairy Trail where you look for fairy houses hidden in the trees and undergrowth! Each one has a QR code attached which you open on your phone and the story of who lives there plays! Amazing and the Grandaughters absolutely loved it! You take note of letters hanging on the houses to make a word up at the end. Although I think some of the letters have been removed. We still worked it out though. There is also a small play park in the middle! This is our new favourite place! It took us about an 1hr and a half easy walking and a stop at the park to finish. There is a bit climbing but most are on the flat. Please be aware there are no toilet facilities so take tissues!
This place is amazing! Especially for mountain biking. This reserve has great views, great bike trails, and great hiking trails. Only negative thing is that the owners destroy bike trails that weren’t approved by them, like when me and a few friends went to a bike trail made by some local mountain bikers, it was flattened, destroyed, and covered in trees! This place is cool but it needs more approved bike trails.
Far more positives to this lovely little nature reserve than negatives. The area is clean and tidy and has loads of different paths that you can walk on. There is a nice little park for the kids to have a play on and a small pond with an information board to help you identify the wildlife. The only two downsides are the one side of the nature reserve is quite close to the bypass, meaning there is a fair bit of traffic noise. The other small problem is there are no bins to put your dog waste in, although I do understand that they can be a bit unsightly especially somewhere like this it would still be nice just to have one or two dotted around. These are only very small points and in all honesty take nothing away for what was a very enjoyable walk.
Lovely walking area . Very quiet. Lots of different trails routes and paths. Thoroughly enjoyed. Spent 2 hours getting lost and finding a new way back. Enjoyed alot.
