Explore Pendle's largest park featuring historic architecture, woodland walks, sensory gardens and a modern playground suitable for ages 5-14.

Marsden Park is the largest park in Pendle, offering families a unique blend of natural beauty, heritage features and recreational facilities. The park boasts extensive woodland walks, ornamental ponds, a marsh area and beautifully maintained gardens including a circular garden, sensory garden and Lady's Garden. A newly installed playground with 18 pieces of equipment caters to children aged 5-14, with four disability-accessible pieces and wheelchair-friendly access. The park's historical significance is exceptional, featuring the restored Tudor-period Marsden Old Hall (built around 1555-1563), two remarkable sundials including the rare Icosahedral Sundial from 1841 with twenty faces telling time in different countries, and fascinating period structures such as the imitation Roman Bath House summer house and the Egyptian-inspired Wishing Gate. The site also includes an ice house and kitchen garden, showcasing the property's agricultural heritage. Beyond the play area and historic attractions, Marsden Park provides sports facilities including five tennis courts and two bowling greens, making it suitable for families seeking both outdoor recreation and heritage exploration. Many paths are accessible for people with low mobility, and the sensory garden features tactile path finders. Free entry and pushchair-friendly facilities make this a welcoming destination for families of all abilities.

A beautiful, peaceful green space! Well-maintained grounds, lovely old trees, clean pathways, and great for a walk, family visit, or relaxing outdoors. The historic gates and layout make it a really pleasant place to spend time. 5 stars!

First visit to the park with my dog. I found it to be clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for parking my long wheel base van and lots of beautiful established trees. It was a shame the cafe was closed on such a beautiful hot day but all in my dog and I enjoyed the pleasant surroundings.
