It's been a while since I've visited Marwell Zoo, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much it's changed and yet in some areas it felt almost the same as before. The wide range of animals are so very well looked after, the staff are lovely in all areas, and the walk through experiences are beautiful! Great day out for all ages ❤️
We had a wonderful experience visiting Marwell Zoo. The zoo is very spacious, clean, and well-organised, with plenty of room to walk and explore. The animal enclosures are large and thoughtfully designed, which makes it enjoyable to see the animals in a more natural environment. It’s a perfect place for a day out with family or friends. There are many different species to see, and the surroundings are peaceful and relaxing. Overall, a memorable visit and highly recommended for anyone who loves nature and wildlife.
Fantastic zoo. Feel like a park with animals rather than a zoo itself! Animals look well taken care of. Perfect for both family and has great accessibility throughout the place. Bring your bottle as there is water station throughout.
I recently went on a family visit with two grandchildren, who are 3 and 6 years old. They really enjoyed seeing all the animals being well looked after in spacious and natural environments. It was great to see the main emphasis on conservation and education. Keeping children at this age occupied can be a challenge at times, but the playgrounds and family picnic areas kept them amused! The whole area was well laid out generally with cafes and good amenities with public toilets available around the park. A great place for families and adults to visit.
Marwell Zoo is always a highlight to visit. The grounds are spacious, with plenty to see and do perfect for getting in your daily steps while exploring. The cafés and restaurants may be slightly on the expensive side, but they’re clean, well-run, and serve good food. However there is a discount for members. I also like there aren't loads of shops to cause child nagging. The zoo itself is tidy and clearly well looked after. Families will appreciate the excellent kids’ park and the multiple toilet facilities dotted around the site. The train ride is fairly priced at £2 per person and adds a fun extra to the day. It’s a shame that Marwell House is currently closed, as it’s such a beautiful building. But the zoo’s priority is rightly the welfare of its animals. Bird flu has unfortunately caused a few closures, yet it’s reassuring to see the charity putting animal health first. Marwell Zoo also runs fantastic events, today’s firewalk being a great example of how they engage the community. Parking is plentiful, with a large car park that makes visiting stress-free. Overall, Marwell Zoo is a well-kept, family-friendly attraction with a strong charitable mission. Despite a few closures, it remains a wonderful place to spend the day, combining fun, learning, and care for wildlife.
