Visited on a Friday and found plenty of parking (at the time of writing £4.00 for the day, with the proceeds helping to support the reserve). I spent a very enjoyable afternoon exploring the well-maintained paths and hides, with plenty of wildlife and interesting woodland to discover. The visitor centre is excellent, with a well-stocked gift shop, a spacious café serving food and drinks, and plenty of outdoor seating for warmer days. Just two small suggestions that would make an already excellent reserve even better. A few seats in the hides would be appreciated, particularly by older visitors or anyone planning to spend longer watching the wildlife. Also, the reserve maps were only available by the café payment area, whereas having them near the entrance would make them easier to find before setting off. Overall, a delightful afternoon and a reserve I'd happily recommend to anyone with an interest in wildlife, photography or simply enjoying a peaceful walk in nature.

Nice walk overall. Flowers, butterflies, birds and water. Gives a refresh from staring at screens.

Lovely park with a variety of birds 🐦 It has accessible paths and it is suitable to prams and push chairs. The park has a parking, cafe and toilets, so it is really convenient if you have small children. It is our chosen destination all year round, allowing us to relax 😌

We visited here for the first time today. A really good place to walk and look for wildlife. We visited the cafe and were really pleased to find that cakes and soups etc, where made on the premises. I enjoyed a lovely slice of Victoria sponge. The lady in the cafe was very helpful and friendly.

Sunday 6th October 2024 I spent a lovely few hours walking around the Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve. A dry overcast cloudy day but very peaceful and quiet with only the odd dog barking and birdsong for company. Lots of Fungi on show at this time of year which was my main purpose of the visit and I was not disappointed. Staff in the cafe were friendly and helpful. Car parking costs £4 for the day which for me was ok as it supports the Nature Reserve but if I was just calling in for a short walk or a coffee then it can prove to be a bit expensive. If nature is your thing then definitely worth a visit.
