There were no steam trains running during our stay in the area but we took a trip on the railway to Wymondham which was lovely. A visit to the Abbey was well worth the trip. The volunteer staff on the railway were really friendly and informative. We decided to have lunch in the railway cafe (pie, chips and thick gravy), it was delicious and highly recommended. We also visited the small museum on site manned by a lovely gentleman, Chris Bell, who was so knowledgeable and really engaging. Well done to all 👏👏

There were no steam trains running during our stay in the area but a trip on the railway to Wymondham was well worth doing and very good value (return journey £10 for an adult). It was an old style train and passed lovely scenery. Wymondham abbey church is definitely with a visit and only 5 mins easy walk from the train station. Wymondham also worth a visit. The railway staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We had the most wonderful time visiting the North Pole by the Polar Express 7/12 on the 3pm train. The staff are brilliant. We were in Rudolph carriage. Please pass our thanks to the actors. They made it so magical and special. Our group ranged in age from 7 to 68. All 15 of us loved it!

Fabulously long railway, and nice to see the Northern Section open and to go to Wymondham boundary. Great locos on for the steam gala. The cheesey chips at Dereham station are amazing. There was a problem with one of the locos which is understandable, they are old, and this meant the timetable didnt work out quite as planned and I was surprised when the train went the "wrong" way (not the way I was expecting). Still a lovely ride. The railway is constantly being improved and this is visible in places. Still fabulous, worth a day out and supporting it means they have the income to do more :)
