Worth a visit if your stopping in the area. We actually passed few times until we found it open. We had to add a comment on their Facebook page to ask when they're open, as the messenger seemed to be disabled. There is quite alot in here to see and a good memory wall for the fallen soldiers from the area. Advise to take your time and not rush around otherwise it would be a quick visit. Car park is free and there is a coffee shop. Would have preferred some millom or area linked gifts rather than squidgy toys sweets and other pound land goods, but hey ho. Nice to visit and would go again. *** LEAVE A GOOD DONATION***

Great little museum right next to the train station in Millom. Lots to see and read about the history of the town. Nice little gift shop, and it's free, donations welcome. Didn't realise just how much history there was. Great for children, too. Dog friendly. Great way to spend an hour or so if you can't think of what to do.

We loved this museum at the train station. Unlike most heritage museums, it wasn't all roped off, you could interact with the exhibits. Learned loads about Millom and the history of the area.

Wonderful interactive museum, full of treasure and interesting facts. Something to suit all ages including dressing up hats and outfits. Thoughtful touches such as the noise cancelling headphones for people that don't want sensory overload. Brilliant! And a very decent cafe nextdoor.
