Amazing museum. It shows history of not just Milton Keynes but many other aspects such as old telephones, blacksmith forging, local history, and also some modern items like a formula 1 car which is very cool. They do toast making on a fireplace for children, and even have an old fashioned sweet shop which has a great selection. The volunteers are usually quite friendly and are very knowledgable amongst topics here so you will learn a lot from them. I definitely recommend this museum if you’re in Milton Keynes.

The Milton Keynes museum is just so lovely for a good day out! I’ve yet to see a museum with such a wonderful range of exhibitions like this one. Firstly your ticket is good for a year from your purchase and there’s plenty of events on year round, very well priced too. This time I visited to see if the new city gallery is open and was delighted to see that it was, this gallery is still a bit work in progress but it was lovely to see modern Milton Keynes represented as you’ll see from the attached photos. Most of the museum is very interactive (particularly the telephone gallery) and staff here are quite knowledgeable which makes for a fun day out. The ancient gallery next you the modern gallery is completed and very beautifully detailed. This museum has something for everyone, it can feel like a bit of a jumble in places but I think it’s charming like the snowman outside asking for hugs or the street of shops lovingly created with actual shopfronts. This is absolutely worth a visit, it’s inclusive and inviting to all, many museums may be bigger but none have a heart like MK’s museum.

We had such a lovely day at Milton Keynes Museum! The kids absolutely loved it from start to finish. All the staff were amazing, so friendly and really great with the children, which made the whole experience even better. It honestly looks quite small from the front, but once you’re inside it’s huge with so much to explore and do. There’s loads to keep the kids entertained and it’s really hands on, which they loved. They really enjoyed making toast too! It’s one of those places you can easily spend a few hours without even realising. Such a hidden gem, we’ll definitely be coming back! 😊

Fascinating museum. Outdoors and indoors. So much to look at and explore and volunteers on hand to bring the exhibits to life. Ticket allows entrance for a year so will definitely be back.

A wonderful hidden gem in Milton Keynes! We spent an afternoon here exploring all it had to offer and can't wait to be back again throughout the year! The volunteers are very knowledgeable and passionate about the museum. We loved looking in all the little shops and had a great time playing with all the telephones! Full of interactive things! Overall a great visit and your admission ticket turns into a year pass for free!
