A fabulous place to swim - booked entry 12-6 over the summer and calm & friendly. We witnessed 2 girls jump in on top of each other & start flailing & fortunately an excellent lifeguard Jan pulled them out speedily. It’s popular so book if you can but open 7am-8.30pm so drop ins also welcome 😊

Beautiful pond and vigilant lifeguards. Visited on busy May bank holiday and witnessed how hard working the lifeguards were, especially under tricky circumstances (crowds, anti-social behaviour and water rescues). Highly recommend :)

This is a pond in Hampstead Heath where you can swim year round. You need tickets in advance, as in the summer the number is tickets sells out fast. Br forewarned. The water is 55 degrees F (which is 12.7 degrees centigrade). That is cold. The bottom is silt, and the water is deep. You need to be able to swim, or you need to use a flotation device. Of course, you are surrounded by greenery, and because of it, the swimming is relatively private. However, people clearly love to swim here. My daughter loved it as did my son-in-law. This is not for everyone, for sure. No children are allowed. nd you need to get your tickets in advance in the summer.

Swimming here is a real pleasure. The setting is beautiful and being outdoors among the trees adds something special. Numbers are well managed so it never feels crowded, and it’s a rare chance to swim alongside waterbirds in such a peaceful space. The facilities are straightforward and functional, which makes getting in and out of the water easy. The water itself is clean and well maintained. It’s a great place to swim, with a calm atmosphere that encourages focus and steady pace.
