Mizens Railway is a volunteer-run passenger railway featuring beautifully maintained miniature locomotives operating on a 7¼-inch gauge track. Situated on a delightful 10-acre wooded site near Woking in Surrey, the railway offers visitors two regular routes: the Suburban route (approximately 3/4 mile, 7-10 minutes) and the Miler route (1 mile, 10-15 minutes). The railway operates a variety of locomotives including Diesel, Electric, and Steam Engines, providing an authentic heritage railway experience on a miniature scale. Open every Sunday from 2-5pm until the end of September, Mizens Railway welcomes families of all ages (children under 12 months cannot ride for insurance reasons but are welcome to visit). The venue offers special events including Santa Specials and Winter Lights during festive periods. The site features a Tea Room for refreshments and is dog-friendly, making it ideal for a family outing. Visitors can explore the beautifully maintained grounds, watch model railway demonstrations, and learn about the dedicated volunteer community that has been running this society for over 35 years since its founding in 1989. Birthday parties and group visits are available by booking, and membership opportunities exist for those interested in becoming part of this thriving railway society community.

Easy to find. Lots of parking. Good family venue for a couple of hours. Lots of trains running. £2.50 Per ride but children must be 1yr old at least.

Parking was limited but the staff run it like a military operation and the wasn’t any delay. A great morning out.

We spent a lovely day at the railway today. Both adults and children really enjoyed it. For 2 rides we paid for 3 adults and 2 kids 25 pounds and 10 pounds for ice creams which was not much. We enjoyed to stay and watch the trains while we had the ice creams. I recommend to go early as soon as they open as the queues become bigger around 3.

Lovely afternoon visiting today! Lots to see when going around on the Miler Route. Great prices. Finished off with a little ice cream , drink from the shop. Staff very friendly amd enthusiastic. Will definitely be back.

A lovely place to visit. Very affordable and refreshments also available and reasonably priced. Quite busy but thoroughly enjoyed our ride on the Miler route. The queue moved quickly. Another shorter route is available and you can ride both.
