Stopped in to escape the heat at the local park and buy a drink and saw ‘Mountain Air’ in the main hall. As soon as the kids saw it I had no choice but to pay for them to go on it. £14 each for 90 minutes is pretty good value and there was 1 staff member for every 2/3 kids which you don’t often see. In fact the staff were amazing, hence this review. One of them was very attentive to the group he was hosting games for and the others were floating around making sure the kids were having fun and safe. Special thanks to Lilly and Connie for arranging the emergency socks and to Poppy for shadowing my autistic son, making sure he was safe and having fun. Highly recommend. 10/10

I couldn’t recommend this leisure centre enough … the staff were friendly and very helpful, the teachers were fun and approachable and the facilities were amazing. The centre was very clean and they something on offer for everyone. I visited today on a day pass which was worth every penny. If I lived locally I would definitely join as a member because my whole experience was so pleasant, even the people who attend the centre are friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back … (if my son who attends the Uni will let me 😁)

The Kids and I had a great time at MountAir. I was offered a free place on the inflatables for a Fathers day treat which I thought was a nice touch. The two staff in charge of the play area were friendly and approachable. The young lady called Darcy went the extra mile to keep my children engaged and Happy. She came up with new ideas and games for them to interact with making sure they got as much out of the experience as they could. Thank you. We will be back.

I’ve trained here for a while now and honestly the state of this track is disappointing. The surface is full of uneven patches and after rain parts of it become waterlogged. For a facility that’s supposed to support serious athletes, it’s nowhere near the standard it should be. The lack of investment is obvious the moment you arrive. The stands have looked abandoned for years and very little seems to have changed. It feels like the place has been left to slowly deteriorate while athletes are expected to just put up with it. The equipment isn’t much better. The blocks, hurdles and other equipment are old, worn out and in some cases feel like they’ve been neglected for years. It’s hard to understand why athletes trying to perform at a high level are expected to train with facilities like this. Even basic things don’t work properly. The vending machines are constantly having problems and half the time they’re out of order. What’s even more frustrating is that when you ask about it, staff often don’t seem to know what’s wrong or when it’ll be fixed. Nobody seems able to give a straight answer and it gives the impression that these issues just aren’t taken seriously. The parking system is also a mess and just adds to the frustration of using the facility. What annoys me most is how much potential this place has. There is a huge amount of space here that could be used to improve the facilities, yet very little appears to be done with it. Instead of developing the site and making it something Portsmouth can be proud of, it feels like it’s being left behind. Portsmouth has athletes competing at national and international level. They deserve facilities that help them succeed, not facilities that hold them back. At the moment this track feels neglected, outdated and poorly managed. It should be a source of pride for the city, but instead it’s becoming an example of wasted potential. One star. The athletes deserve better.
