Fantastic experience! Great collection and we paid in advance for my 79 years old mum to drive a tank. It was an hour experience, Andy the tank instructor was amazing. Mum had an absolute whale of a time! Highly recommend!

I last visited the Muckleburgh Military Collection as a child, so returning as an adult with my fiancée was nice, you naturally have more of an appreciation for everything there. The collection is the largest privately owned military museum in the UK, housing everything from tanks and armoured cars to artillery, missiles, bombs and a fascinating range of weapons and uniforms. The main focus is around the World Wars and Cold War of course, though there are some items dating as far back as the late 1700s! There is genuinely something around every corner. Everything is very well labelled and some areas are covered in extensive detail, so you don't need to be an expert to understand what you're looking at. The museum sits on the site of a former WWII Royal Artillery anti-aircraft training camp, and you can still see details that give this place a wonderful sense of authenticity. There's also a café which is large and airy. We'd already made other plans for lunch so didn't eat here ourselves, but it looked good and seemed decent value. The gift shop is nice too, we picked up a couple of keyrings on the way out. I'd say plan for around two to three hours, though you could easily spend longer if there's something of particular interest to you. Definitely worth a visit.
