The National Cycle Museum is a monument, an enormous building in the the heart of the Welsh town of Llandrindod Wells, I know that the building holds great history, don’t get me wrong, but I believe that there is such potential for shops in the building. Nobody I know visits the National Cycle Museum and I think that the town would benefit from having a retail outlet. The units inside the National Cycle Museum could be perfect for popular shops and I believe it would revive the town, bringing in visitors from all over Mid Wales as the National Cycle Museum once did. The beauty of the historic building could be preserved while also containing retail units to bring out the locals, attract shoppers from all over Mid Wales and increase shopping within the town. Llandrindod Wells, a town with close to 7000 residents, could definitely benefit from a large retail space like this.

An absolute gem! Really enjoyed my visit here. Located on the main road with car parking nearby, the museum is staffed by helpful volunteers so be sure to check opening times if you're making a special trip here. So many bikes to see across a wide range of eras including specific information about selected cyclists. It's easy to be absorbed by the engineering and design of these models so if your interest is bikes make sure to give yourself enough time in the exhibition. Located on the ground floor with wide entry doors, the route within the museum is flat and accessible, although may be a little tight if you use a wide mobility aid due to the volume of bikes within the exhibition space. There are clean toilets on the ground floor within the building. There is a small entry fee which is well worth the experience.

What a great museum for the cycling enthusiast. A very detailed history of the bicycle with some great examples. Loved picking our favourites, the Dursley was awesome with the sprung seat set up. Nice tribute to Eileen Sheridan too. Would recommend👍

What a great little place to visit if you have an hour spare. There are plenty of bikes to see from all ages of past times. It is presented very well and the staff were very nice and friendly. We parked on Middleton road car park which charges during the day, and walked across, but there could be a free car park behind the museum nearer to the lake. It is only open a few days a week so check the website, I think it is Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. There will be plenty of signs outside saying it is open. Kids are free but adults are £6 but we felt that was a fair price.

This place was amazing. A great little find for me and my partner who are keen cyclists not that you necessarily have to cycle to have a look around! So interesting. Bikes dating back to the year dot. I was surprised to see so many kinds of penny farthings as well as loads of memorabilia. Well worth the money and staff were really friendly, informative and helpful.
