In its day it would have been a very impressive mansion house, however time and debts of the former owners have taken their toll. The dedicated work of the staff and archivists are bringing the history back to life. Although quite a lot of the house is empty of furnishings the exhibits give a glimpse into the past. The work on the gardens has made a very pleasant walk, the views to the lake again very beautiful.

Plenty of parking, accessible parking is a separate car park clearly signed. Toilets for all are just at the end of this car park. Dog friendly on leads! All staff we came across were friendly and helpful. We used this place as a pit stop on our journey back up to north wales, as national trust members when we do long journeys we do try and find one central for a stop to have a stretch and they have a cafe and toilets...much nicer than service stations! This place had beautifully kept grounds and walled gardens. The cafe was down some stairs but they did have an accessible alternative! Plenty of outside seating. We had coffees and a vegan blueberry slice, which was very nice.

A beautiful building with a spectacular entrance supported by four enormous columns. The interior is also surprising in its originality and beauty. It's easy to be transported back in time and imagine life as it once was... The entire facility boasts a wonderful vegetable and ornamental garden, with an incredible variety of flowers. The overall effect is truly impressive. I highly recommend visiting. A truly enjoyable time.

This is a very nice place to visit. There are some beautiful items too see in each room. So much history in this home. I liked the servants work area in the basement, strangley enough it felt the most cosy. The garden area is quite large, having its own lake at the bottom of it. Worth the visit.

Lovely place. Lots of work going on in the walled garden. Lovely courtyard to have coffee, the sun was shining so very relaxing. Beautiful Magnolia tree in full bloom and lots of spring flowers. Nice short walk around the lake. We only had an hour there but would love to go back next time we're in the area.
