This is a place I have never ventured to until yesterday. It was absolutely stunning. The gardens are just divine and well worth a visit on their own. The house was beautifully decorated amd it was lovely to see photos of the current custodians dotted about. I had a really lovely day.

An interesting place to visit, volunteers happy to tell you about the history of the building and family. Not so keen on some of the artwork displayed but that is down to personal preference. The gardens are beautiful and well kept.

Really pretty especially this time of year. Loved the galleries and the volunteer playing the piano in there, lots of different themes of artwork to look at. Although not very easy to get to via public transport as the bus stop outside only serves one bus and it never shows up when it’s supposed to.

A really nice country estate, lovely grounds with some good walks and the stately house has a small art collection. We’re National Trust members and after spending most of the day at another site we popped in on our way home, glad we did! Nice cafe & ice cream kiosk, pleasant and knowledgeable staff. My only negative point is the price of water, all that was available was some fancy stuff in an aluminium bottle for £3.50, small cups and a container of water was complimentary but only in the cafe. It was a very hot day on our visit so what about some drinking fountains or a cooler so you can fill your own bottles?

A lovely place to while away a few hours, on a dry autumn day. The house is closed now until spring, but the gardens, lake, woodland walks & parkland are still open, for all to enjoy. There is a lovely indoor tearoom, an ice-cream hut & the expected second-hand bookshop on site, plus a lovely outdoor eating area in the orchard. If you enjoy modern art, there is displays worth a look in the galleries. Autumn was on full display for our visit & we loved it.
